Year of Re-Standardize (Review)

·2 mins

Most Memorable…
Date: Jimbocho old books streets & curry beef (tongue?) rice
Family Time: Ah Han cry for an hour until he get his pacifier we left at home (while Ah Ying was very smart in the hour)
Friend Time: New friends in Tokyo Malaysia gang and have house gathering

Changes in…
Physical Health: Rest from cycle commuting as a lot of house chore after moving house, then focus on 10k steps tracking to rest.
Mindset: Sleep is the best productivity tool. Just get enough sleep before anything.
Soul: Embrace all emotion and allow negative emotion as part of life. They are part of the needs

One line on what’s done…
Growth:  Boosted practice on  SQL, Macro VBA, SimPy Simulation. AnyLogic doesn’t suit me.
Money: Taking my very first step to really track my expenses on spreadsheet. One year done, can start to plan for control.
Career: Quit a job that against my value system although they pay well. For the 1.5 year selling my soul, I shall take 1.5 years to pull myself together again.

Intense journal/ plan-log-review started in July 2024, which helps me reconnect better with the historical event & decision and reevaluate current decision. (sounds like some AI 😅)

  • Full engagement: The decision of quitting social media help me value on full engagement. My world was originally fragmentize by multitasking work environment, and embracement of AI which gradually losing the logic behind. Now I am fragmentizing stuff to serve me fully engage in life.
  • Privacy security: After coming across a YouTube documentary on teens mobile game addiction, where they found a company who server the game developer with accurate user analysis for mass customization via eavesdropping, I stop installing any game on my mobile device. Luckily he has a PS5 for me to play around
  •  Re-standardize: Some self-discipline practice has been there for years and I am getting them away from platform-reliant (eg: daily photo journaling via Insta-story, Notion for blogging and Life homepage, note-taking)… This year I was pulling them into google workspace that I paid for and bullet journal in physical. Practicing Macro VBA from work place really help me in Apps Script over my Google sheets this year. Not to mention the obvious google site for this blog. Lastly, the yearly theme, it went subtle for one time, but they will be there now on.
