Year of Full Engagement (Review)

·1 min

I was fully-engaged by pregnancy (real tough one), and the baby came by Christmas eve. Now everything is different.

I gain the sudden enlightenment in full engagement when I lost all my time to a new-born. Every 1st world problem is no longer getting it’s priority. I am fully engaged with life, my mindset updated:

  • I don’t need accuracy, I need certainty. As long as it is within the certainty, imperfection is better than perfection.
    • Designated area for messiness = everything is under control. Google keep is my new catch-all, and they are exponentially messy.
  • End it at where it next retrieve. Calendar description, email archive (because no next)
  • Password Management. The world is more fragile then we think. I use bit warden + physical on important password, where the password is the combination of a (one of the few) static options on physical record and random generation by system.
  • Books over all other media. Academic paper is far-front & still debating. Streaming media has high noise-to-information ratio, and they sprocket you to download their thinking without giving you space to think. Books has more stable information, hence they worth my attention.
